Your Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Manager to lead our electrical & automation team and play a key role in driving operational in our journey towards being the world leader in a global industry racing towards sustainable food packaging solution. This is a pivotal leadership position with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, where you will shape and deliver the electrical & automation strategy while ensuring high performance execution across operations and projects. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be an integral part of the sites engineering leadership team. Where youll be The role is based at our site in Dollingstown, Lurgan - approximately 30 minutes from Belfast. What youll be doing As Electrical & Automation Manager, you will be responsible for: Developing & implementing an engineering strategy in line with the overall site strategy Leading and developing electrical and automation projects to meet current & future business needs Driving performance against departmental and site KPIs, focusing on operational efficiency and effectiveness Planning and managing short-, medium- and long-term activities associated with your team, including budgets and timelines Building, leading and developing a high performing team, whilst creating a support environment, championing personal and team development Collaborating with key stakeholders to determine the scope of projects and advise on engineering solutions Preparing technical specifications and evaluating quotations/tender documents Contributing to Project and Capital Expenditure proposals, providing appropriate information to support fabrication and demonstrate payback Co-ordinating installation and commissioning activities Influencing / directing technical fault finding and developing or advising upon relevant solutions Innovating, developing and improving engineering practices to ensure equipment performance is effective Facilitating and supporting training on new equipment and providing technical support to Maintenance and Production personnel Ensuring compliance with Company ISO standards, promoting Quality, Environment and Health and Safety in all aspects of your role What youll bring to the role Ideally educated to degree level in Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering or similar. Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or similar. Time-served candidates with a HND or HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or similar, combined with solid engineering/manufacturing experience will also be considered. Proven leadership experience within an engineering / manufacturing environment, to obtain high levels of performance Strong working knowledge of HV Distribution, AC/DC drives, PLCs and SCADA Demonstrated experience of project work requiring specialist electrical engineering knowledge Proficiency in CAD software (i.e. Eplan) and Microsoft Office A proactive can-do attitude with strong team collaboration skills The ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines Whilst not essential, the following would be advantageous:- Previous electrical engineering experience gained within a high-volume manufacturing plant Previous experience of fault-finding and engineering out problems using analytical techniques such as FMEA, Six Sigma and lean.
