INTERNAL VACANCY This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy Financial Transactions Team.
In this role you will be required to undertake a range of duties, with the key objective of supporting Adults Social Services but with some tasks relating to Childrens Social Services. You will be expected to support vulnerable customers, often at stressful times in their lives, in addition to working closely with Adults Social Care Teams, and Customer Accounts Team to answer charging/payments queries from outside customers, and care providers.
Responsibilities
* Processing of invoices and payments to care providers by means of direct invoice input, and file upload
* Carry out annual reconciliation of social care contributions
* Processing refunds or supplementary charges where necessary
* Regular reconciliation of Direct Payment accounts for Adults Social Care service users
* Administrative tasks such as post and issuing pre-paid cards
* Processing weekly payments for Foster/Adoption allowance to carers and parents
* Financial assessments, and regular reviews to calculate their weekly allowance payable
Qualifications
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Familiar and confident in using Excel spreadsheets
* Confident in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Teams
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to deal with queries in a confident and efficient manner
We will provide you with on-the-job training for all tasks required. Once trained, we offer home working, with current requirement to work from West Offices approximately 2 days per week. This role is suitable as a job share opportunity. As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
