Overview
Role: Operator / Driver / Fitter based in Anglia region. Drive and operate On Track Machines (OTMs) to maintain railway infrastructure safely and efficiently. Work collaboratively within a skilled team to perform essential maintenance and renewal tasks and contribute to rail safety and reliability.
Responsibilities
* Attend all required training for the roles of Driver/Operator or Operator/Fitter or combination of all to become a Driver/Operator/Fitter.
* Commit to personal development and attend all relevant training.
* Report and record real-time issues including incidents, accidents and environmental occurrences in a professional and timely manner, informing the appropriate parties per Company procedures.
* Communicate and escalate machine service faults and failures to the maintenance department, including issues affecting shift performance.
* Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with policies, procedures and safety rules.
* Aim for high standards through determination, commitment and motivation.
* Pre-employment medicals and DBS check will be required for all safety-critical roles.
* Maintain personal route knowledge (Driver/Operator).
Person Specification / Qualifications
* Energetic, driven, determined and professional; able to follow processes and procedures safely without direct supervision.
* Positive attitude; thrives in busy, pressurised environments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Analytical problem-solving and timely decision-making abilities.
* Motivated to learn and contribute to the business; understands UK Rail Operation/Standards and regional geography.
* Previous Rail Industry experience as an engineer, driver or on-track machine operator; has current or past Railway Route Knowledge of the region (Driver/Operator).
* Essential: Flexible, honest & punctual; able to work weekends, bank holidays and a 24/7 shift roster; willingness to stay away from home as required; proficient in Microsoft Windows; Full UK Driving Licence; level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering background for Fitter/Operator; psychometric pass for Driver/Operator.
