Band 7 Dietitian - fixed term contract to September 26
We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic Dietitian to join our Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) to cover maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right therapist to become a valued member of our vibrant multidisciplinary team.
You will carry a clinical caseload and also employ your knowledge and passions for Dietetics to support the development of provision to address the needs of children and young people.
Main duties of the job
As post holder your main duties will be to be responsible for the assessment of, and therapy with, the young person and their network; consultation and support within the wider multidisciplinary team in theinpatient unit and community setting and education for the staff group.
You will receive supervision operationally and from the ChYPS Lead Specialist Dietitian and gain additional support from the AHP Professional Lead within the wider ChYPS Services.

Job responsibilities
To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs.
To ensure dietetic contribution to the provision of quality clinical care and performance standards working in collaboration with the wider MDT.
To provide expert advice to patients, carers and clinicians regarding provision of nutritional intervention for paediatric clients based on clinical evidence. This will involve nutritional diagnosis (interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition and diet history) and the development of treatment plans (calculation of nutritional requirements and client-centred goals), prescription of dietary therapy and use of ACBS products where appropriate.
To support in the strategic development and evaluation of dietetics in conjunction with the Lead Specialist Dietitian and alongside wider system consideration and collaboration with parallel agencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent.
* Registration with the HCPC as a Dietitian
* Evidence of post graduate level study
* Practice Education training
Knowledge/Experience
* Broad experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems
* Experience in a clinical area related to the post
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
* Experience of both group and individual work
Skills
* Able to communicate complex condition related information to service users, carers and colleagues
* Share knowledge, ideas and work practices including policies and strategies.
* Ability to act as lead dietician for the clinical area, provide a high level of advice in complex situations.
* Ability to coordinate dietetic activity across the area in collaboration with operational managers.
* Demonstrate track record of writing and delivering key interventions.
* Ability to use Trust IT systems including e-mail and electronic clinical records (standard keyboard skills)
