Sustainability Coordinator

The Growth Company (GC) is seeking a proactive and organised Sustainability Coordinator to play a vital role in advancing our sustainability agenda. This position supports the Sustainability Manager through high‑quality administrative, reporting, and coordination activities that help GC meet its sustainability KPIs and maintain full legal compliance. The role also involves close collaboration with the Sustainability Manager and sustainability leads across the organisation, contributing directly to the delivery of GC’s wider sustainability ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver comprehensive project and administrative support, including diary management, supplier liaison, meeting and training preparation, and assistance with document and policy development.
2. Coordinate with internal and external sustainability stakeholders to drive GC’s sustainability objectives, while supporting communications on environmental performance and key initiatives.
3. Support the Sustainability Manager, Social Value Lead, and Procurement Manager with monitoring, reporting, legal compliance, and maintaining the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, including internal audits.
4. Maintain GC’s sustainability management platforms, contribute to supply chain mapping and risk assessments, and assist with Carbon Literacy Training rollout and facilitation.
5. Produce high‑quality management information reports, undertake accurate financial administration, and ensure effective handling of enquiries, data entry, and information management across systems.
6. Analyse data systems, conduct research, perform database searches, and support the promotion of services, events, and project activities to colleagues, clients, and partners.
7. Contribute to audit preparation, project monitoring, and the organisation and administration of seminars, conferences, and workshops, including promotion, logistics, registration, and feedback processes.
8. Implement and review office systems to improve efficiency, support colleague engagement initiatives such as Team Green, and help deliver satisfaction and feedback processes following training and events.

About You

9. Solid understanding of environmental and sustainability issues affecting organisational performance.
10. Experience working or volunteering in a similar sustainability‑focused role, demonstrating genuine commitment to the sustainability agenda.
11. Background in providing administrative support within diverse teams and contributing effectively in project‑based environments.
12. Degree in environment, sustainability, or a related discipline.
13. Experience delivering Carbon Literacy training is advantageous.
14. Approachable, proactive, and able to use initiative with a flexible, professional, and positive approach to work.
15. Calm and responsive under pressure, able to manage last‑minute requests and busy periods effectively.

Skills Required

16. Strong IT capability, particularly in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
17. Methodical working style with excellent attention to detail.
18. Confident handling large datasets, with the ability to analyse information and present clear, concise insights.
19. Highly organised, able to manage complex administrative tasks, meet deadlines, and support multi‑faceted projects.
20. Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
21. Professional and confident when engaging with colleagues and external partners across face‑to‑face, phone, and digital channels.
22. Comfortable presenting to groups and contributing actively to team environments while also working independently.
23. Able to plan and manage workload efficiently to ensure timely completion of tasks.
