Job Overview:
As Product Development you will be responsible for the sourcing and development of new products for the Home Furnishings/ Kitchen category from China and Pakistan suppliers for both branded and own label ranges for key retail accounts. This will include extending current product ranges and sourcing new product categories which are relevant and complement existing Kitchen ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
New Product
Work collaboratively with Design and Commercial team to ensure strong range build, to develop a strategic, innovative product offer aligned to the Brand.
Brief in new product to Agents in the Far East/ China and Pakistan for sourcing new suppliers.
Ensure sustainability is at the forefront of all sourcing decisions were practical, looking for new innovative ways to extend our sustainable product offer.
·Research & provide product information and visuals for shape, style, size, materials, construction.
Work with suppliers to provide initial construction samples.
Request prices based on a variety of options to meet a target price, being commercially aware.
Key Accounts
Putting together technical specs
Assist in managing the design & product development process from receiving the initial brief through creation of design, design development, product development, sampling, labelling and packaging.
Work with Key Account Manager and directly with the customer, to understand their brief, meet their design needs, target price and delivery deadlines.
Source new, innovative, and commercially viable products internationally to grow the account.
Provide all information to request price quotes from the factories.
Negotiate with the factories on product spec to achieve target price.
Work with Technician to ensure we meet quality standards.
General
Putting a technical spec together
Work with the QC on packaging design requirements.
Work with the Technical team to ensure we know what’s required for all developments to meet customer requirements & critical path.
Liaise with customers, team members, NIM, suppliers on daily basis.
Skills and Experience:
Technical specs
Critical path
Experience in Fat East supplier and factories with China and Pakistan is essential for this role
Worked with high street retailers
Have worked closely with product and design teams
Homeware/ textiles Manufacturing experience, primarily focusing on homeware.
Demonstrable knowledge of the homeware marketplace in retail and eCommerce.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
Experience in using Photoshop and Illustrator
