We have an excellent role available for a professional surveyor to join our warm and welcoming Assets and Property team.

This role is all about actively dealing with and responding to any queries, complaints, and claims relevant to asset delivery-based services and liaising with legal representatives and insurance advisors. You’ll also provide technical advice to the organisation, employees and external partners and agencies.

As an Assets Surveyor, a typical day might include:

1. Lead asset surveyor working on our energy improvement works programme, Including loft and cavity wall insulation, Solar PV.
2. Monitoring and supporting proactive and reactive damp and mould interventions through the provision of professional technical services and close working with customers and partners to ensure that asset investment programmes contribute to the effective implementation of the objectives outlined in the corporate Damp & Mould Policy.
3. Monitoring the day-to-day operation of Energy improvement works, working closely with contractors to ensure the effective delivery of the programme.
4. Undertaking site visits to premises across the organisation’s geographical areas to resolve issues with contractors or others affecting performance.
5. Working with contractors, suppliers, stakeholders, and partners to ensure targets are met and corrective action is taken to address underperformance.
6. Supporting the Asset Investment Manager where required.
7. Ensuring the highest standard of customer excellence by taking responsibility for team behaviours and performance. Implementing and embedding new working practices that enhance the services and the customer experience.
8. Preparing documentation, tenders, specifications, descriptions of work, drawings, estimates, costs, schedules etc. as required to ensure that works are carried out correctly and in timescale.
9. Assisting with the management and resolution of insurance and disrepair claims.

What we need to see in your application:

10. HNC or equivalent or relevant experience within the construction industry.
11. Current full UK driving licence.
12. Experience of successfully managing budgets.
13. A working knowledge of contract or project management and standard contract types.
14. Experience of using standard forms of contracts.
15. Experience of successfully managing contractors.
16. Experience of producing tenders, specification, schedule of works and estimates.
17. An understanding of practical Health & Safety practices and evidence of delivering accident-free environments

and what will really make you stand out from the crowd, but dont worry it isn't essential::

18. Strong electrical installations knowledge would be advantageous.
19. You’ll be able to adopt a proactive approach to improve service delivery including creating specifications in which to drive improvements and maximise value for money across all services.
20. You can prepare deed or conveyance plans and surveys in respect of Right to Buy or Right to Acquire applications.
21. You can identify trends in underperformance, take action and produce reports or action plan to address including timescales.
22. Be a role model for Health and Safety – looking out for your safety and those of others and never being afraid to challenge unsafe practices.
