Newstaff Employment Services is currently looking for an experienced HGV 1 Driver to join our team in Luton. As an HGV 1 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting commercial goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exemplary customer service and adherence to all transport regulations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety.
Responsibilities
* Operate HGV 1 vehicles to transport goods to various locations in a timely and safe manner.
* Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
* Adhere to local traffic laws and company driving policies.
* Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Requirements
* Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) driving license.
* Proven experience as an HGV 1 Driver, preferably in a commercial setting.
* Strong knowledge of driving regulations and transport laws.
* Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety.
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight delivery schedules.
* Strong communication skills and good customer service orientation.
* Flexibility to work various shifts as needed within a dynamic environment.
