An opportunity for a Fire Project Manager & Estimator is available with my client who is well established and respected Fire and Security business who design, install, service and maintain fire, intruder alarms, CCTV, door entry, access control, external security systems. Their ideal candidate will have previous experience in rreceiving enquiries from customers and providing a price estimate or a quotation / specification. This maybe either via a tender enquiry or carrying out a site survey. As well as Manage installation projects and installation engineers for each project.
Fire Project Manager & Estimator role:
• To prepare Tenders and Quotations by designing or interpreting specifications provided to us for conventional fire and analogue fire system, and as and when required, design and price other systems such as PA / VA systems, emergency lighting, nurse call systems, disabled toilet alarms, disabled refuge systems, induction loops and other associated systems.
• Manage the Installation Engineers and the daily needs associated.
• Scheduling the work and agreeing the installation dates with the Customer.
• Monitoring the progress of the installation work with the Installation Engineers, ensuring that progress is in keeping with any associated building works or construction programs which may involve your own direct involvement on site to ensure keeping up with the program.
• Assessing the suitability of equipment proposed by the Surveyor and sourcing alternative materials if need be.
• Deal with technical problems from Installation Engineers.
• Preparing and raising all relevant documentation for customers and invoicing.
• Oversee visits from external inspectors and auditors.
Fire Project Manager & Estimator requirement:
Proven Project Management of fire systems
Good communicator with excellent organisational skills.
Estimate effectively bearing in mind all aspects of the works, timescales, overheads, etc to provide the best prices for our customers and ongoing works for our company.
Able to liaise with customers and staff at all levels.
Good listener who is able to take in and translate customer requirements into a well though out, scheduled project.
Must be able to think on their feet and trouble shoot in a practical, logical way.
Work closely with the Fire Department Manager to manage the engineers’ workloads to fulfil project deadlines.
