JOB TITLE: Support Worker – Substance Misuse
LOCATION: Covering Truro/Falmouth/Penryn area
SALARY: £14.82 per Hour
DURATION: 3 MONTH POSITION
The Employer:
We are recruiting a Support Worker for a housing environment. The client is a large employer based in the South West, providing jobs for around 1800 people, delivering services across various fields. They offer housing options for different needs, from homelessness support to retirement homes, covering Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset, with stability and progression opportunities.
The Role:
* Providing responsive support services to individuals experiencing substance & alcohol misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and other challenges.
* Liaising with agencies regarding benefits, mental health, substance misuse, housing, and education.
* Offering quality support, building trust, and maintaining relationships with clients.
* Writing, reviewing, and updating support plans and risk assessments positively and proactively.
The Candidate:
* Experience supporting individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
* Common sense application and accountability in decision-making.
* Ability to establish and maintain partnerships and relationships.
* Experience in record-keeping, action planning, risk assessment, and risk management.
* Knowledge of Housing Support and working with vulnerable individuals, with the ability to assess situations and provide solutions.
* Ideally NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
* Resilient, adaptable, friendly, and positive in challenging situations.
Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference. It involves working 37 hours over 5 days, including evenings and weekends. A DBS at Enhanced level is required.
