Join to apply for the Staff Nurse role at Temple B'nai Abraham
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse to join our dedicated Urology service at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and can deliver patient-centred care in line with the values and behaviours of the University health board. The successful candidate will need to be NMC registered; however, Urology experience is not essential and all training pertinent to the role will be provided.
Responsibilities include
* Supporting Nurse led flow rate clinics and undertaking bladder scans
* Supporting nurse led clinics for Intermittent Self catheterization and Intermittent Self Dilatation, including insertion / reinsertion of urethral and suprapubic catheters
* Assisting Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) with trial without Catheter clinics
* Providing specialist advice and support to patients during Flexible Cystoscopy and other diagnostic procedures (i.e. urodynamic studies, prostate biopsies (LAPPB), venepuncture)
* Supporting Nurse led bladder intravesical therapy clinics
* Making appropriate referrals to other health professionals
* Providing a telephone resource for patients, District Nurses and GPs
* Making referrals to District Nurse and Continence Prescription Service
* The successful candidate will be based at the Princess of Wales Hospital, but will be required to work across all sites as needed by the service
* Deliver clinical excellence within the Urology team and support activities such as nurse led clinics and Consultant Outpatient clinics
* Assist in procedures such as Flexible Cystoscopies, Urodynamic Studies and Prostate Biopsies
* Carry out and support the decontamination of equipment used according to the WHTM 01-06 guidelines
Requirements and working details
* NMC registration is required
* Experience in Urology is not essential; training will be provided
* Innovative, team-oriented individual with excellent assessment, management and communication skills
* Willing to learn and work within a changing environment
* Based at Princess of Wales Hospital; may work across sites as required
* Welsh language ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome
