Role
As a Construction Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in working across a wide variety of large, exciting construction projects across both public and private sectors. Due to continued growth and business development, our client is actively recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in their Leeds office.
This Quantity Surveyor position offers exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management within a supportive construction consultancy environment, with opportunities to work on prestigious construction projects throughout the UK and overseas.
Responsibilities
As a Construction Quantity Surveyor with a Leeds-based Construction Consultancy, you will be required to deliver and demonstrate a variety of quantity surveying responsibilities across an array of Construction Projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Cost planning and cost estimation for construction projects on a national basis
* Cost management and budget management throughout project lifecycles
* Tender management and tender evaluation for construction contracts
* Financial reporting and cost reporting for clients and stakeholders
* Budget management and cost control on active construction projects
* Employers’ agent duties and contract administration
* Bills of Quantity
* Valuations and interim valuations for construction work
* Commercial management of construction contracts and procurement processes
* Risk management and cost risk assessments for construction projects
* Claims, adjudications and risk management
* Expert witness
Person
Employed by a people focused, nationally leading specialist Construction Consultancy based in Leeds, the ideal Quantity Surveyor must be able to portray the following:
* Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of quantity surveying experience
* Tier 1 main contractor experience or experience in claims/disputes
* MRICS chartered or working towards RICS chartership
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
* Experience with cost planning, tender management and value engineering
* Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and construction teams
* Knowledge of construction industry standards and procurement processes
* Desire and motivation to succeed in a quantity surveying career in Leeds
* Understanding of commercial management and contract administration
