Job Summary
We are seeking a maternity cover for the current Assistant Clinical Lead to support the expanding workload of the Clinical Lead. This is a fixed term position for a GP with a special interest in gynaecology, who would like to develop their leadership skills further and support service improvement, education, and clinical governance.
Service Overview
The Gynaecology Collaborative provides a single point of access for gynaecology services across Haringey and Islington. Its primary goal is to ensure patients receive timely care from the right specialist in the most appropriate setting. Patients may be directed to community gynaecology clinics, other community services such as Family Planning, Sexual Health, Bladder and Bowel services, or hospital clinics within the partner hospitals.
This service operates as a comprehensive hub for all gynaecology referrals, with established pathways for necessary procedures and ultrasounds. Patients suitable for community clinic care are seen by either GPs with a special interest in gynaecology or consultants from Whittington, North Middlesex, or UCLH Hospital Trusts.

Islington GP Federation (IGPF) is a growing organisation representing 31 practices; we have established ourselves as a leader in new ways of working, including running Islington's extended access primary care services (I:HUB) as well as supporting the Islington Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
Our current range of services includes the Extended Access Service, I:HUB, Community Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Integrated Community Gynaecology, practice-based pharmacists and a range of practice support mechanisms.
IGPF works very closely with a range of partners including the regional commissioning group, NHS England, Healthy London Partnership, Public Health, local hospitals such as UCLH, Whittington Health and the London Borough of Islington.

Job Responsibilities
* Service Delivery: Work closely with the operational team and clinicians to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the service. Supports clinical triage of referrals if the need arises.
* Education & Training: Organise and support the delivery of educational sessions for our clinicians and HCPs in Haringey and Islington. Attend and support the delivery of bi‑monthly menopause meetings and share the learning with the wider team.
* Clinical Governance & Quality Improvement: Provide feedback to clinicians in a supportive and collaborative manner (quarterly patient feedback, consultation audits, follow up rates).
* Complaints and Incident Management: Supports the investigation of incidents and complaints in the service.
* Data Analysis and Management: Use EMIS searches and reporting tools to monitor service performance and implement necessary improvements. Update clinical and admin templates in EMIS and IPLATO.
* Quarterly Clinical Meetings: Prepare the agenda and topics as well as the report for the bi‑annual clinical governance meeting as well as chair the meetings.
* Clinician Rotas and Oversight of Trainees: oversee the GPWER and Consultant Rota, support the induction and rota of GP trainees in the service.
* AI and Automation: Supports clinicians to use AI scribe tools as well as keeps up to date with the development of AI tools in clinical practice. Provides clinical input into the development of robotic automation tools.
* CQC Preparation: Works closely with the service manager and the IGPF Lead nurse on the CQC readiness of the service.
Person Specification
Experience
* Essential: Minimum 2 years post MRCGP.
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong clinical knowledge in women's health.
Desirable
* Clinical Governance Experience
* Leadership Experience
* Practicing GP in the NHS in the local area (Camden, Islington or Haringey)
IT Skills
* Essential: IT proficiency in MS Office, proficiency in EMIS (clinical system).
* Desirable: Ability to amend clinical templates, do EMIS searches and data analysis.
Availability
* Essential: Availability all day Wednesday at the IGPF Office.
* Desirable: Availability to provide at least 1 clinical session per week in the Gynaecology Collaborative.
Communication
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent team working skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
Qualifications
* Essential: GMC registered GP with a license to practice.
* Desirable: Postgraduate Qualification in Women's health (e.g. DFSRH, DFFP, DRCOG or equivalent).
