Are you a Pricing Executive with Commercial experience? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Pricing team here at Royal Mail.
As Commercial Pricing Executive you'll be working closely with our Head of Pricing and Senior Pricing Manager, as well as collaborating with various internal stakeholders across our business, to maintain a complex suite of models and to set and implement annual pricing changes for a suite of products worth over £1bn pa.
We're looking for someone who is great with numbers and has a strong background in modelling in a commercial environment. If you're a master with Excel and have experience working with tools like Tableau, we want to hear from you!
About the role
You’ll analyse international letters and parcels data sets using Excel/VBA and other analytical packages to uncover trends to drive the commercial strategy. You’ll engage, influence, and support senior stakeholders in the Product and Pricing teams, and more widely around the business, to help approve and deliver new pricing strategies and product propositions.
You’ll support the formation and approval of the annual tariff strategies for Royal Mail International and Retail Letters products using pricing models to assess margin, volume, and revenue impacts. You'll build and utilise expertise with our pricing and billing systems to ensure that the annual tariff is deployed into our systems without error.
There is an opportunity to work closely with the Data team in Pricing to improve our models and tools. Integral to the team is a high degree of constant learning and knowledge transfer, meaning you will have the opportunity to develop broad based business skills and in-depth expertise in all aspects of pricing. The role also offers significant potential for future career development.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll have the following skills and experience:
* Proven commercial acumen and good business sense to think strategically and identify opportunities.
* Excellent Excel modelling skills.
* Maths or numerate degree or significant relevant analytical/modelling experience.
* Experienced and comfortable with analysing datasets and using results to draw commercial insights.
* Ability to build and maintain a wide network of stakeholders and thereby influence senior managers across multiple departments.
* Can explain complex subjects in a clear and succinct way, verbally and in writing.
* Ability to ensure that numerical work is accurate, consistent with other analysis and with a full audit trail.
* Good financial knowledge, especially with regards to cost contribution and margin analysis.
* Experience of pricing in a commercial environment desirable.
* Some experience of other techniques and platforms (i.e., VBA, Python, Tableau) is desirable.
