PURPOSE:
Joining Crystal's creative team as Marketing Editor, you will play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and compelling marketing campaigns for the luxury cruise market. We are seeking a first-rate writer and editor with a sound understanding of the cruise industry, knowledge of global travel and cruise trends, and a passion for creating both marketing and editorial content that aligns with the high brand values of Crystal and our parent company, the Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group.
Responsibilities
* Generating innovative and on-brand copy for all marketing collateral, from e-newsletters to DMs.
* Writing, developing, and editing original content in the Crystal voice for various projects.
* Collaborating with our international marketing and product teams, helping to ensure multiple business needs are communicated in an original, creative manner.
* Sub-editing, proofreading, and fact-checking to ensure accuracy of facts, grammar, and spelling.
* Taking initiative; demonstrating the ability to write with the business goals in mind; and producing work efficiently, without the need for multiple rounds of edits.
* Collaborating with the design team to ensure visual elements complement written content and adhere to brand guidelines.
* Working to tight deadlines, quickly and calmly under pressure, and able to turn around amends in a timely and accurate manner.
* Monitoring travel and cultural trends to create relevant campaigns that capture the zeitgeist.
About You
* Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Media, Advertising, Communications, English, Writing, or other related field preferred.
* 5+ years of experience working as a writer, either in the media or for a luxury brand. Travel/cruise/hospitality experience a plus.
* Experience at mid-senior editorial level for a luxury brand or quality travel/cruise publication.
* Excellent writing and editing skills, with the proven ability to create engaging marketing copy for a discerning audience – understanding what makes a compelling subject line and how to craft the right hook for a campaign.
* A good knowledge of the luxury travel/cruise industry with a keen awareness of global travel, cruise, and cultural trends.
* Complete understanding of writing and creating content for a luxury brand and responding to marketing needs.
* A sharp eye for detail and first-rate sub-editing skills.
* A genuine passion for exploring the world, with experience of travelling and, ideally, taking luxury cruises.
* Knowledge of US English a plus but not essential.
