QinetiQ is hiring a Senior Software Assurance Consultant to support software delivery across multiple projects as part of a team that provides Independent Technical Assessment of software in safety-critical/related aircraft systems. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology at UK locations with hybrid working patterns available.
Role location: any of our main UK sites. The role is 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Populating software safety arguments under a goal structure establishing that a baseline exists for the software under review
* Establishing that the software is targeted to be developed to a known software standard
* Establishing that the development and verification processes are established and meet the correct standards
* Evaluating changes down to the source code level (SPARK Ada) and reviewing the associated Spark Analysis
* Providing assessment in a format suitable to the project and interfacing with QinetiQ systems and safety subject matter experts
Essential Experience
* Strong knowledge of aircraft software development and recognised software development standards
* Extensive experience of safety-critical software development and safety engineering concepts
* Experience as a Software Technical Assessor or extensive experience as a software engineer in a safety-critical environment
Essential Qualifications
* A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) or relevant technical experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at UK locations. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Security and Vetting
Many roles in QinetiQ are subject to national security vetting. Applicants who already hold the appropriate level of vetting may be able to transfer it upon appointment.
