A lively primary school in Wembley is recruiting a Year 2 Teacher to join their KS1 team from January 2026. The Year 2 Teacher will plan coherent units that build reading fluency, confident number sense and foundational writing skills. This Year 2 Teacher role in Wembley includes leading guided-reading groups, running targeted maths and phonics interventions and contributing to phase moderation. Induction and comprehensive handover will be provided prior to January 2026 so the Year 2 Teacher can begin the spring term prepared. Role responsibilities Design and deliver progressive Year 2 lessons that develop vocabulary, comprehension and calculation skills. Lead small-group tuition, track impact and refine programmes to secure rapid progress across Wembley. Collaborate on year-group planning, moderation and cross-curricular projects to enrich the Year 2 curriculum. Work closely with support staff to adapt tasks and provide effective scaffolding for diverse learners. Maintain clear communication with families and contribute to reporting and review meetings. Person specification Qualified teacher with confident KS1 practice and demonstrable Year 2 outcomes. Skilled at using assessment to inform planning and to deliver high-impact small-group interventions. Calm, resourceful and committed to the Wembley community; available to start January 2026.
