Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in Blackpool, supporting students who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural guidance to succeed. About the Role You will work closely with teenagers who have experienced significant challenges, becoming a key part of a supportive pastoral and SEND team. Your role will focus on helping students regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and build confidence for the future. Key Responsibilities Supporting Emotional Wellbeing Delivering tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions Using trauma-informed and nurturing approaches Helping maintain a calm, safe, and consistent learning environment Building Positive Relationships Acting as a trusted adult and positive role model Developing strong, professional relationships that promote resilience and positive communication Encouraging Learning & Engagement Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to meet EHCP needs Working as Part of a Team Monitoring and recording progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing Collaborating with colleagues to provide high-quality, consistent support What We're Looking For Experience supporting young people with SEMH or mental health needs A calm, patient, and resilient approach Strong communication and de-escalation skills A genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed What You'll Receive Competitive daily pay: £90 - £121.89 per day Ongoing support from an experienced Tradewind consultant Access to CPD, including trauma-informed practice, behaviour management, and safeguarding A highly rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference Ready to Make a Difference?
