About The Role
As our business evolves, we are looking to strengthen our workforce with talented and motivated individuals across a range of disciplines to work from our Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence and currently have this opportunity available:
The primary purpose of this role is to support the continued growth & development of the Boxer AIT manufacturing team, we are seeking to appoint an integration and test lead technician to secure delivery of our commitments. This role will operate within the Manufacturing Engineering function, supporting Boxer AIT delivery.
Key Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
* Be the technical subject matter expert for Boxer assembly (Drive Module / Mission Module or Both).
* Coordinate structured problem solving, engaging required stakeholders & escalating appropriately when support is required.
* Support Manufacturing Engineering with delivery of day to day tasks.
* SOPs, SAP Routing changes, Defining future state, problem solving etc…
* Drive improvement across area of responsibility, demonstrate behaviours
* Be the immediate point of escalation for issues arising during assembly operations in designated area of responsibility.
* Work closely with Manufacturing engineering to ensure optimised equipment availability – monitoring calibration, maintenance schedules & procuring equipment to support efficient & timely completion of Int / Test & Rework operations.
* Conduct initial problem solving, seek to understand & support problem definition before engaging support.
* Escalate concerns to manufacturing engineering initially for support.
* Support and perform assembly tasks to progress build, whilst training team members & taking opportunities to gather process information.
* Support training and validation of competency for new hires into AIT.
* Develop rework proposals for damaged / non-conforming material. Support Manufacturing engineering to deliver reworks to plan.
* Develop testing methods to enhance quality assurance, manage development of quality alerts & confirmation of deployment to the AIT team.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship, NVQ Qualification or Vocational experience.
* Appropriate qualifications to enable you to conduct all elements of production and standing in if required.
* Possess an enhanced knowledge of Boxer vehicle assembly, common faults, assembly issues & system operation(s).
* Demonstrable evidence of structured problem solving on Boxer.
* Competent in the use of TIS, SAP, MS Outlook, MS Word & MS Excel for generation of reports, SOPs, technical documentation & issue tracking.
* A highly effective communicator that remains calm under pressure & can lead a team through a structured approach to resolving often complex issues.
* An appetite for learning & ability to impart knowledge on others – tailoring style to individual(s).
* Confidence communicating with levels in the organization, sharing progress updates & defining next-steps.
* Ability to think-ahead, planning who, what & how we will deliver results on a daily basis.
* Willingness to support extended periods of travel to support training, test facility deployment(s) & off-site testing, evaluation & handover.
* Willingness to support frequent / reasonable overtime.
