An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Quality Officer as part of our Pathology IT Team. The post holder will be expected to work closely with other IT staff across pathology and in support of the development of the Tees Valley Pathology Service in collaboration with South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust, to deliver a high quality service to our users.
The successful applicant must have good Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of GDPR, good time management skills and the ability to pay attention to detail.

This post will initially be based at our North Tees NHS Foundation Trust site at University Hospital Tees, Hardwick Road, Stockton on Tees. TS19 8PE.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to:
Validate patient demographic data on the pathology information system, order communications systems and associated interfaces. Undertake data cleansing to ensure the systems holds correct and up to date patient demographics, NHS Number, GP and practice details.
Proactively manage the duplicate patient records created within the systems to reduce the clinical risk associated.
Work with users of the systems to raise awareness of the importance of accurate, up to date information.
Undertake data quality audits to assess the quality of information held on the systems.
The Pathology departments at North Tees and South Tees hospitals are working collaboratively to develop a joint service with services being delivered from all hospital sites via hub and essential services laboratory arrangements. This will require cross site working as appropriate but will initially be based at our North Tees NHS FT site.
