Principal Teacher Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and support colleagues, providing strategic guidance.
2. Lead curriculum development and quality assurance.
3. Contribute to school policy on pupil behavior management.
4. Support professional development and performance reviews for staff.
5. Implement and manage whole-school policies, including guidance, pastoral care, and behavior support.
Principal Teachers will have a reduction in class contact time to fulfill these duties, which must be manageable within the 35-hour workweek.

GTC Scotland registration is mandatory for teaching in Scottish state schools.
