This role involves working within a multi-professional team to deliver high-quality care to women and their families. Prior experience in maternity care is desirable, as the successful candidate will be expected to work independently and undertake tasks under the supervision of midwives. Responsibilities include providing care and support to women/birthing people and their families, phlebotomy, offering appropriate advice within the MSW role's limitations, and maintaining essential equipment.
Working as a Bank Maternity Support Worker allows Student Midwives to gain a broad range of skills and offers extensive opportunities for professional development under midwife supervision.
Key duties include:
1. Phlebotomy
2. Maternal and neonatal observations
3. Documentation and administration, including appointment booking
4. Communication with patients and the multidisciplinary team
5. Attending meetings
6. Collaborating with midwives
