Overview
Tesco Express Store Manager – Ipswich area. Contract: Permanent. Shift pattern varies day to day and is planned in advance.
About the role
You will be responsible for recruiting and training the best people for your team, developing their operational and leadership skills to deliver above and beyond in their role. You will coach your team to be passionate and knowledgeable about the products in your store, building its brand and providing customers with the right range, quality and service to encourage repeat visits. You will lead your team in driving trade activity, using your expertise to grow sales and maximise profit. You will lead and develop your managers to deliver the Store Change Plan and resource planning, ensuring hours are worked where they benefit customers and identifying root causes with sustainable solutions and continual reviews. The safety of colleagues is a top priority, and you will ensure the store trades legally by coaching the team to use all security tools available to provide a safer place to work.
You will need
You are a great communicator who shares knowledge and best practices, working collaboratively with your team to deliver results. You are natural and welcoming with customers, listening and building strong relationships with colleagues and customers. You use energy and resilience to maintain momentum in challenging environments, make store-level decisions quickly for customers and colleagues. You have energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations and act with integrity in all situations. You are aware of competitors and continuously seek ways to improve the store for customers.
