The job itself
Hours of work: 40 hours per week to be split between a couple of workers
Days/Times: Monday to Sunday
Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour if employed / £18.00 per self employed

Support is required for a 43-year-old male with learning disabilities, who resides in Pocklington. They require a couple of dedicated workers to support them each week.
They like/enjoy music, TV, acting, playing in a band, socialising, routine
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Meal preparation and some domestic tasks.
2. Assisting the individual with medication.
3. Assisting with personal care.
4. Assisting with shopping.
5. Aiding the individual with financial budgeting.
6. Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
7. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments, and providing remote support when the individual is travelling alone.
8. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
Hours
During term time, 3 times a week early starts at 5:30am to make sure the individual is up and ready to set off for his day care setting, and a later finish to make sure he is home, has a meal and is prepared for the next day.
Weekend hours might be lower sometimes if the individual is spending time with family.
The 40 hours per week consist of:
9. 14 hours a week for personal cares, this includes support with bathing, checking temperature and manage some light domestic tasks too. Prompts and reminders for his personal cares in a morning, and support applying creams on his legs.
10. 6.5 hours week to support with meals preparation making sure they are prepared.
11. 10 hours for socialisation, supporting with getting him to his events in a evening, band practice, gigs when he is playing planning his travel for his day care, though its hoped he is able to have a car under mobility and then they could support with taking him.
12. 5 hours a week for shopping, domestic, planning, appointments and weekend assistance to maintain running of his home
13. 4 .5 hours - This is to support 3 times a week early start at 5.30am instead of 7am as he has to get up and prepare for his days at his day care setting. Gentleman is able to independently travel but he requires support from others monitoring Apps for the buses and the trains as at times they do not show up or cancelled -
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:

16. Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication) and empathy.
17. Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
18. Have previous experience caring for an individual with additional needs.
19. Be fully flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
20. Be a team player and able to work effectively alongside another carer if needed.
21. Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.
