DRACAS Analyst (Data Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Action Systems)

Department Through Life Support Engineering (TLSE) is a holistic life cycle process through which the combination of management and engineering actions necessary to assure effective and economical through-life support of a
system or capability are accomplished as an integral part of the acquisition
process.
TLSE consolidates its Through Life Support approach to help the business
segments respond to the changing customer requirements such as
reduction of total cost of ownership, increased reliability performance and
capability-based contracting (incl. asset management, technical support,
field support, obsolescence management, performance monitoring and
improvement).
DRACAS Analysts work within the Services Centre of Competence (SCC)
and may have cross-domain responsibilities.
Primary Purpose of the role
Normally based at a central site, the primary purpose of the DRACAS
Analyst Role is to:
1. Provide support to development and support projects by using the DRACAS
process and tools to identify fault-trends and problems, risks and
opportunities, cost and performance drivers; propose effective mitigation
activities and track to completion.
Core tasks and responsibilities
2. Identify, collect and collate failure/incident data from all appropriate sources
for the serviced Projects (such as customer, field support data and repair
and survey data);
3. Set up new project DRACAS in the software tool (Favoweb) including the
Bill of Materials / Product Breakdown Structure.Ensure data is entered accurately and coherently on to the DRACAS tool.
4. Identify trends, problems and Cost/Performance characteristics in the
incidents.
5. Liaise with Project engineering teams and Subcontract Managers to
understand and agree DRACAS concerns.
6. Prepare for, convene and participate in DRACAS Review Boards.
7. Co-ordinate and assist with root cause analytics to determine the true nature
of the occurrence.
8. Generate Project DRACAS minutes and reports summarising the results
and recommending action plans.
9. Support recommended action plans with appropriate business cases.
Mine and analyse historical DRACAS data from various sources to assist
bids.
10. Generate and maintain Project DRACAS Plans.
11. Attend other Project meetings as required.
12. Ensure assigned Work Packages meet schedule, budget and quality.
13. Generate estimates for DRACAS work.
14. Administer and maintain the Company DRACAS tool as agreed.
15. Comply with all relevant Company management system processes.
16. Comply with the Project management plans and codes of practice.
17. Project Specific Tasks and Responsibilities.
18. The role may additionally have need for Project-specific skills and
experience as agreed with Project and Functional Management
The jobholder has dual reporting lines in a matrix organisation. For project performance the reporting line is through to the Project Manager, or as otherwise determined. For functional aspects the reporting line is through to the Function Manager.
The jobholder is required to develop networks & build key relationships to obtain ‘buy-in’ and cooperation to achieve objectives and fulfil responsibilities. Interfaces and communication shall be with all stakeholders and include, but are not limited to:
