Role: Assistant Principal Lawyer REF 1543761 Contract Length: Until September 2025 Location: Enfield - Hybrid working to be discussed IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £49.38 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for an Assistant Principal Lawyer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL LAWYER Communicate agreed direction and purpose for staff in the service in a way that engages and motivates people Lead their service area to deliver high performance Lead the effective planning, commissioning and delivery of services Set and communicate clear service standards Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic goals for the service which link to the Council priorities and support the achievement of the long-term ambition for the Council and is residents Identify and recommend evidence based areas for service development and improvement. Build effective relationships with relevant partners and elected members SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL LAWYER Act as a senior member of the in-house legal team, carrying a heavy caseload of complex legal work Manage and supervise more junior staff and to contribute to the management of the department. Advise on governance and decision making and other constitutional matters and attend committee if required from time to time. Help develop and implement the Council’s strategies, policies and procedures and to ensure the values and behaviours are enacted by the team.
