We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neonatal Nurse to join our specialist neonatal care team in Preston. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and innovative environment, providing vital care to newborns who require special attention, including premature babies and those with health complications.
As a Neonatal Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to infants and supporting their families throughout their journey in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver skilled, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in Level 1, 2 or 3 neonatal units.
* Monitor and manage infants' vital signs, administering medication and treatment as prescribed.
* Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including neonatologists, paediatricians, and allied health professionals.
* Provide emotional and educational support to parents and families during their child's NICU stay.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in accordance with NMC guidelines.
* Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development.
Requirements
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN (Children's Nurse or Adult Nurse with Neonatal experience).
* Completion of a Specialist Neonatal Course (QIS) is desirable, or willingness to undertake one.
* Previous experience in neonatal or paediatric nursing is preferred.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a commitment to delivering family-centred care.
