Here at Nurslink, we are currently looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to support an NHS trust in London to work 37.5 hours per week, on a mixed shift rota.
Location: North London.
Job Summary:
The post holder will work closely with and deputize the ward manager in their absence. Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, supervise, teach, and instruct junior staff, Nursing Assistants, Activity Coordinators, and STR Workers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
Working independently, the post holder will be responsible for developing and coordinating the individual’s assessment and subsequent care plan as agreed with the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will adhere to Trust policies, data protection, and Health and Safety policies.

Essential:
* Registered nurse with a current NMC pin
* Relevant Nursing qualifications

* 6 months recent experience as RNMH
* Two clinical references covering 3 years of work experience

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
As an RNMH nurse, you will:
* Observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring the patient is fully informed of their legal position and rights under the Act.
* Determine nursing priorities and plan patient care accordingly, including full risk assessments, and inform the Ward manager of any changes in circumstances that may affect standards of care.
* Participate as an effective member of the MDT and develop and implement a patient-centered approach to care: assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers.
* Administer medication in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and locally agreed policies. Have thorough knowledge of medications used in mental health treatment and communicate information regarding medication, treatment, dosage, and side effects to patients, relatives, and carers.
* Liaise with other professionals, specialist nurses, and units to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Interpret clinical observations, act upon them, and communicate findings to the MDT following clinical protocols.
* Support and assist the ward manager in daily ward operations, ensuring resource efficiency and effectiveness, with ongoing responsibility for delegated aspects of ward management.
* Conduct appraisals and supervision of staff in line with Trust policies and support team development.
* Participate in Quality Audit documentation and undertake relevant audits for the Ward/Unit.
