Main duties of the job
We're seeking a dedicated individual to take on the exciting role which includes the day-to-day management of a team of Patient Experience Administrators. In this pivotal position, you'll provide invaluable secretarial and administrative support to our Consultants, medical staff, and team members, ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
You will be the main communication link between patients, administrative staff and the Trust. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring timely patient treatment within national waiting time guidelines. Your duties will involve offering a personal point of contact for patients throughout their orthopaedic journey, coordinating various hospital visits, and ensuring the efficient functioning of consultant clinics. Leading by example, you'll manage administrative staff day to day, maintaining a seamless workflow and providing exceptional patient care.
You'll exhibit a proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and autonomy in your work. Exceptional organisational skills are a must, coupled with flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians,
managers and others within Orthopaedics and Trust wide service users.
Be the point of contact for all non-routine enquires facilitating communication
and information flows, initiating and responding to correspondence and
resolving enquires.
Investigate and respond to complaints/incident forms as required, taking
action where necessary and reporting to Line Manager.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
1. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
2. Experience of working in a customer focused environment including face-to-face
3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word with experience of Excel, Power Point, email and the internet
Desirable criteria
4. NHS experience within a hospital environment
5. Knowledge of medical terminology
Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
6. ECDL or equivalent experience
7. Educated to GCSE or equivalent experience or qualification
8. Previous Secretarial Experience
Desirable criteria
9. Previous experience leading a team
10. Experience managing capacity and RTT pathways
