Southampton Secondary Academy – January 2026 Start Teaching Personnel is pleased to work with a vibrant, inclusive secondary academy in Southampton to recruit an energetic and committed Maths Teacher on a full-time, permanent basis, beginning in September 2025. About the School The school is a mixed 11–16 academy serving around 900 students. The academy is part of a trust that aims to provide “exceptional education at the heart of the community.” Inclusivity is central — the school welcomes pupils from all backgrounds and abilities, placing emphasis on equality, support, and a broad and balanced curriculum. Their most recent inspection (April 2024) judged the academy “Good” in all areas. Inspectors noted that pupils make good progress, produce high-quality work, and that students with SEND are very well supported. The school promotes strong values of being proud, kind, and determined — pupils reflect these values in their behaviour, attitude and work ethic. About the Role As a Maths Teacher you will: Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum. Support students in achieving strong outcomes in GCSE Mathematics through effective teaching, formative and summative assessment, and targeted feedback. Use data to monitor and track pupil progress, identify under-achievement and implement appropriate interventions. Work collaboratively within an established maths department — sharing planning, resources, and best practice to sustain high standards. Participate in additional support and enrichment: tutoring, intervention sessions, maths clubs, revision workshops or other extra-curricular numeracy activities. Promote inclusion: adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND or from diverse backgrounds.
