At Citizens Advice, we re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Safeguarding to lead the development and delivery of our safeguarding strategy across our national organisation. This is a unique opportunity to shape and enhance safeguarding practices that protect and empower staff and volunteers. About the role This is more than a leadership role; it s a chance to champion a culture of safety and protection at the heart of one of the UK s most trusted organisations. As Head of Safeguarding, you will: Lead on the development and implementation of robust safeguarding policies, procedures, and training. Provide expert guidance across the organisation to ensure alignment with legislation, regulation, and sector best practices. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to drive and promote consistent, effective safeguarding. Ensure resources are used strategically to support learning, development, and innovation. Act as a senior point of contact and escalation for complex safeguarding matters. What we re looking for We re seeking a highly skilled professional with: Significant experience leading safeguarding at a strategic level in a complex organisation. Deep knowledge of safeguarding legislation and its practical application in diverse environments. The ability to influence, guide, and build strong partnerships across multiple teams and networks. Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a passion for creating safe and inclusive spaces for all Why join us? Please apply with CV and Cover letter to demonstrate the following; Demonstrated experience in a senior safeguarding role, preferably in the charity or voluntary sector. Proven track record of developing and implementing safeguarding strategies at an organisational level. Experience of working with and providing oversight to Designated Safeguarding Officers or equivalent roles. Whilst we prefer a blended approach between a local office, if one is near you, and home we re open to being flexible on location, occasionally a role may require you to be based in a certain location if that's the case it will be detailed in the advert or job description. This can be discussed in more detail during your interview. The National Citizens Advice operates from offices in England and Wales, with 4 regional offices based in Cardiff, London, Birmingham and Leeds, therefore all successful applicants must be based within England or Wales.
