Main duties of the job
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our experienced Senior Nursing Team within Ward 1. The successful applicant will work closely with a Band 7 Senior Sister to deliver high standards of patient care and provide robust support to staff across the unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
You will be expected to:
* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and enthusiasm
* Take on managerial responsibility for a number of staff within the nursing team
* Lead nurse-led care on a shift-by-shift basis
* Deliver gold-standard nursing practice across a diverse emergency caseload
* Act as a role model, leading by example in all areas of clinical practice
* Take charge in the absence of other senior staff
* Manage and respond to complaints and Datix reports professionally
* Champion specific areas of departmental interest to support ongoing service development
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Has an NMC registration
* Has a nursing qualification
* Has actively participated in an improvement within the department
Experience
* Experience of leading change in nursing role
