Peer Positive and Safe Trainer

We are looking for Peer Trainers to join our Positive and Safe Training Team. The role is designed to support the development and delivery of positive and safe training across the Trust. Post holders must have lived experience of mental health issues and of accessing secondary mental health services.
Working directly within the positive and safe team and line‑managed by the Senior Trainer, the post holder will co‑design, deliver and evaluate face‑to‑face training sessions to enable cultural change toward recovery‑oriented practice. The role requires travel across all Trust geographical areas.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsored Skilled Worker visa.
Main duties of the job
* Co‑design, deliver and evaluate training packages on values and attitudes, behaviour management, recovery, PBS, harm minimisation, trauma‑informed care, restrictive interventions, person‑centred support, behaviour support plans, staff well‑being, verbal de‑escalation, lone working safety, and debriefing.
* Utilise lived experience and personal recovery journey to engage and inform clinicians, supporting the implementation of more recovery‑focused practice.
* Travel independently across all locality areas as required.
Qualifications
* GCSE level Maths and English or willingness to work towards them.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge
* Basic computer skills for Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience of delivering presentations.
* Personal experience of using secondary mental health services.
* Experience of sharing own experience and personal recovery journey.
Other requirements
* Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies and service need.
