Project Support Officer

Location: Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate, RH2 8EF

This role has a starting salary of £36,873 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

Within our Design and Transformation Service, we have two vacancies for Project Support Officer, which are offered as fixed term contracts to end March 2027. These roles will work as part of our Delivery team to support the Devolution & Local Government Reorganisation programme - the largest change to the local government landscape in 50 years.

About The Role

We are seeking two highly organised and proactive Project Support Officers to provide essential support to a complex programme of work. The role will focus on workforce disaggregation, TUPE-related activity, and project coordination, ensuring delivery against statutory and fixed timescales.

You will work closely with the workforce lead, HR colleagues and the programme manager, providing high-quality administrative, coordination, and reporting support while handling sensitive employee data in line with GDPR and organisational policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong project support experience who enjoys working in fast-paced, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day project and programme support across defined workstreams
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities, including agendas, papers, and follow-up actions
Support TUPE and workforce disaggregation activities, including collation and management of employee data
Maintain accurate programme documentation, logs, trackers, and version-controlled records
Produce progress reports, briefings, and updates to support governance and decision-making
Support compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and statutory requirements
Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure actions are delivered to timescale
Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate

Essential Skills And Experience

Proven experience in a project or programme support role, preferably within a complex organisation
Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience handling sensitive data and working within confidentiality and GDPR requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
