* Hours: 37 per week (permanent)
* Flexible working arrangements and part‑time hours will be considered
* From 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland will reduce the full‑time working week from 37 to 36 hours with no change in full‑time pay

About The Role
This is an exciting time to join our team, working with the Research and Development department in the delivery of an innovative and expanding research programme. The successful applicant will have opportunities to support their development, with measurable objectives agreed to stretch you and continually improve the service.
Tayside Medical Sciences Centre (TASC) was established in 2010 to combine the established research strengths of NHS Tayside and the University of Dundee. A key aim of this partnership is to catalise the design and delivery of clinical research in a safe, effective and efficient manner and to increase opportunities for participation in clinical research within our region. TASC is a core part of NHS Research Scotland and plays a significant role in the clinical research infrastructure of TASC. There is a portfolio of 100+ Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products active at any time with approximately 40 new CTIMPs commencing each year.
The post holder will be a member of the growing pharmacy clinical trials team at NHS Tayside. Potential candidates will have demonstrable experience in hospital pharmacy at band 4 level including in‑and outpatient dispensary experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Obtain and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training, apply principles of GCP in the management of clinical trials and work within the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and EU directive related to Clinical Trials
* Communicate with Investigators, Research Nurses, Trust R&D, Sponsors, Clinical Research Associates and Pharmacy staff during the set‑up and running of a clinical trial
* Ensure clinical trial protocols and SOPs are followed during dispensing of clinical trial investigational medicinal products and other drugs included in the protocol
* Assist with the preparation for monitoring meetings, audits and inspections, and maintain clinical trial files ensuring items can easily be located and are presentable
* Assist with the closedown and archiving of clinical trial files
* Assist in maintaining financial records, including the generation of invoices, checking payments, etc.
* Assist with general administration, such as organising set‑up meetings, etc. and be a point of contact within the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team
* Opportunity to be supported to complete the post‑registration Vocational Framework for Pharmacy Technicians for personal and professional development
