Hygiene Manager Location: Grantham Report to: Factory Manager We are seeking to recruit a Hygiene Manager to manage and control all aspects of Night Shift/Day Shift hygiene operations within the Coated Factory. This includes changing facilities. Responsible for leading and managing the team/s to achieve the site hygiene standards against the profit and performance targets determined by the Site Factory Manager. Drive through continuous improvement to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiencies through the development of people; processes and systems. Responsibilities: To operate at all times to the highest attainable safety standards. Instil safety-conscious attitude and work methods into all your staff. Ensure all areas of responsibility are maintained in a safe manner. Use disciplinary action, if necessary to ensure safe practices are followed. Check regularly for safe operating procedures. Responsible for ensuring that scheduled cleaning tasks are completed to the appropriate site and customer standards. Manage and develop and motivate the team/s to ensure standards are met and exceeded. Site Factory Manager Hygiene Manager Hygiene Team Leaders & Operatives Job Description Close liaison with Technical to improve site GMP Hygiene standards. Close liaison with the Engineering Manager to support the engineering department to improve site PPM. Continuous Improvement to drive down non-conformances and improve QSL`s Emphasis on product integrity assurance at all times with the focus on correct procedures being followed for prompt line start ups. Ensure KPI`s are implemented on all external and internal service providers constantly measuring performance and reviewing service level as required. Ensure areas of responsibility operates at all times: a. Within the Technical specifications required b. With minimum use of Labour c. With minimum costs in terms of waste and chemical usage. Ensure all your direct reports are communicated to effectively via team briefings etc Carry out regular performance reviews with direct reports to ensure continuous improvement and manage performance expectations. Ensure full involvement and employee contributions are maximised. Coach and mentor when appropriate. Carry out presentations with support from the Training Co-Coordinator as and when required to improve GMP standards across the site To take part in specific initiatives and project work both within your own operation and organisation as a whole. To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business, e.g. reduction of waste, recycling, etc. • Any other reasonable duties as required. Essential Criteria: Relevant Chemical / Food Hygiene / qualifications Food manufacturing experience Budget responsibility Exposure to a variety of quality standards such as BRC and HACCP Demonstrate experience of identifying and implementing appropriate change to deliver business improvement Strong leadership skills and experience of managing. Commitment to Safety both in terms of people and products Knowledge of labour and throughput controls and cost benefits Strong decisions making skills Competent IT User Willing to undertake personal development training Desirable Criteria: Knowledge of waste and control methods to reduce environmental impact Qualification in a food related subject.
