About the role

We are recruiting for a Duty Officer to work at the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre on our Preston campus.

The Duty Officer will be part of the Estates and Campus Services Department working specifically within the Sports facilities section. The postholder will be responsible for operational shift management, and will lead a team of staff including Duty Supervisors, Class instructors and Sports coaches to ensure the day-to-day running of the sports facilities. The successful candidate will also provide a high quality sports service to all customers so that they can play, compete, coach, train or spectate in a safe, secure and professional environment.


About you

The successful candidate will have extensive previous experience of work in a sports facility or environment, and will hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a sport-related discipline, or have equivalent experiential learning. You will also hold a first-aid at work certificate and ideally a professional Health and Safety at work qualification (if not then we will pay for this qualification).
