Being a DCO demands excellent people skills, and professionalism to handle an ever-changing day. You'll support the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of people in our care while working within a professional, secure environment.
Main Duties
1. Supervising and supporting residents to ensure the smooth running of residential units.
2. Conducting security checks & contributing to the smooth running of residential units including conducting regular patrols, meal distribution, checks and searches.
3. To care for residents entrusted with us at the centre, ensuring exceptional standards of safety, security, dignified care, and respect.
Whilst no direct previous experience is required, you must meet the specific requirements listed below:
4. Be over 18 years old, hold a valid passport and have no restrictions on your right to stay in the UK.
5. Be able to complete a mobility test where you need to go down on your knees and stand up unaided. This is to ensure you can safely meet the physical requirements of control & restraint training, for your safety, the safety of residents and colleagues
6. Be eligible to obtain CTC security clearance and pass full vetting checks, including declaring any conflicts of interest linked to proscribed organisations (religious, immigration, or political) as listed under the Terrorism Act .
7. Have lived and worked in the UK for at least 3 years, with no overseas trips longer than 3 months within that period.
8. Not be a part of an ongoing police investigation or involved in any industrial tribunal
9. Consent to regular drug and alcohol testing and understand that you are not permitted to use drugs in your personal time or travel abroad for drug use, regardless of local laws. This includes medicinal cannabis.
10. Consent to having your personal property or vehicle searched at any time while on the premises.
11. Consent to declare all arrests and criminal convictions during your VETTING process
