Since 2019, Delta Live has been the sole audio supplier to the Camden Roundhouse, a venue renowned for its live music heritage and engaging corporate events. The company maintains key infrastructure and equipment at the venue, operated and maintained by a dependable and professional audio team.
This role is a vital part of the overall engineering delivery at the Roundhouse for music shows, corporate events, and artistic programs throughout the year. Additionally, the position offers opportunities for temporary deployment to other departments within the business to work on large-scale public events, unique private events, and musical performances such as the BBC Proms.
Once established, the Live Sound Engineer will be capable of performing all system engineering and Front of House (FOH) duties, with a solid understanding of the permanently installed L-Acoustics PA system and ancillary equipment. The engineer must have the expertise and ability to make adjustments and decisions during live productions, including mixing FOH and Monitors, managing radio systems, and stage patching as needed.
There will be occasions when the engineer is the sole Delta Live representative onsite, serving as the senior in charge of a team of freelancers. In this role, they will represent both the Roundhouse and Delta Live, demonstrating professionalism and technical expertise in their delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Manage and provide onsite technical expertise for live show setup and delivery.
2. Act as the onsite point of contact, effectively liaising with live acts, act management, and venue staff.
3. Lead and instruct onsite crew members, ensuring clear communication through show briefings.
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safety-conscious environment.
5. Handle loading, unloading, and setup of equipment as required.
6. Represent the company and the venue positively to clients and incoming productions, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
7. Occasionally work at Delta’s warehouse or onsite for other projects.
8. Review advance riders from production and address any queries.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in delivering music and corporate live shows.
* Proficiency in mixing FOH and Monitors.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Self-motivated with a flexible, proactive attitude.
* Physical dexterity and agility, as work can be physically demanding.
* Attention to detail, diplomacy, and sensitivity on site.
Desirable Qualities
* Knowledge of SMAART measurement software.
* Experience with L-Acoustics Network Manager and Soundvision.
* Familiarity with DiGiCo mixing consoles and infrastructure.
* Knowledge of L-Acoustics systems (K2, KARA), including rigging and tuning.
