We are working with a highly supportive and nurturing specialist school in the Wareham area that supports pupils aged 4 to 16. The school is known for its caring ethos, strong relationships with pupils and staff, and its commitment to helping every child develop confidence, independence and life skills.

Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and structured learning environment where students are encouraged to recognise their strengths and prepare for the next stage of their education or future pathway. Primary-aged work is also available within the setting.





The Role

As a Careers Lead, you will support students in exploring their interests, strengths and future opportunities. You will help guide young people through important decisions and build their confidence as they plan for life beyond school.

Key responsibilities:

* Deliver an engaging and supportive careers programme

* Provide 1:1 and small group guidance to students

* Support pupils with planning their future pathways and transitions

* Organise opportunities such as work experience, employer visits and career events

* Work closely with staff, families and external organisations

* Track student progress and destinations





Requirements

* Minimum 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN needs

* Experience working with children or young people in education or care settings

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* A patient, supportive and adaptable approach

* Confidence working both independently and as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
