The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and academically challenging Psychology lessons, supporting students in developing analytical thinking, research skills, and a strong understanding of psychological theories and concepts. Main Responsibilities Teaching and Learning Plan and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons across relevant Key Stages. Create engaging lessons that promote discussion, critical thinking, and independent learning. Use a variety of teaching strategies to support students with different abilities and learning styles. Prepare lesson materials, resources, and assessments that support curriculum objectives. Curriculum Development Contribute to the planning and development of the Psychology curriculum. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that align with examination specifications. Integrate contemporary psychological research and case studies into teaching. Assessment and Progress Monitoring Assess, record, and monitor student progress in line with school policies. Provide clear and constructive feedback to support student improvement. Prepare reports and attend parents’ evenings to discuss student progress. Student Support Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support students’ academic and personal development. Encourage curiosity, discussion, and independent research in psychology. Department and School Contribution Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Social Sciences department. Attend department meetings, staff training, and school events. Support enrichment activities such as psychology clubs, workshops, or open evenings. Additional Duties Participate in INSET training and professional development opportunities. Support school events, parents’ evenings, and open evenings. Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested by the Headteacher or Senior Leadership Team. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to motivate and engage students in learning. Strong organisational and time management skills.
