About
EduTalent Group are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tonbridge that is seeking an experienced teacher to support their Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). The role involves working with a small class of pupils with Autism within a structured and supportive environment, alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and a dedicated Centre Leader who oversees practice across the provision. The school is seeking a teacher for 2 to 2.5 days per week.
Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver structured and engaging lessons for a small class of 8 to 10 pupils with Autism
• Use effective autism friendly strategies to support learning and behaviour
• Create a calm, supportive and well managed classroom environment
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants to support individual learning needs
• Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils’ communication, social and emotional development
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt strategies where required
• Collaborate with the wider SRP team, including another SRP class and the Centre Leader
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience working with pupils with Autism
• Strong knowledge of autism strategies and inclusive teaching approaches
• Excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills
• Ability to work effectively with Teaching Assistants and support staff
• A patient, adaptable and supportive approach to teaching
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
