We are currently looking for an experienced transport administrator to join the Chorley team to support the current transport operation. As transport administrator you will organise and control the daily transport operations, ensuring a timely, delivery to our customers in a fast paced and demanding operational environment.
You will deal with any driver related issues ensuring that all transport legislation is strictly adhered to with an overall responsibility to ensure compliance with both Company and Statutory requirements regarding the Operators license, Drivers hours, Tacho regulations and H&S, Service and Quality. Responsibilities
Debrief drivers to ascertain if any difficulties were encountered and to obtain management information
Proactively manage your shift within the transport operation on site
Ensure the transport department is legally compliant in line with current legislation
Identify and resolve operational issues and where appropriate escalate to Transport Supervisor
Liaise with Vehicle workshops and ensure all vehicles are pre-scheduled for inspections/MOT's/Tacho
Filing & Administration of Vehicle Compliance Documents
Maintain the Compliance record system in relation to Operator Licence Requirements
Monitoring and processing Vehicle daily defects
Assist the Transport Manager with Vehicle Breakdown reporting
Raise purchase orders for Vehicle repairs
Carry out Driving Licence/CPC/Driver Card checks
Assist the Transport Supervisor in the Drivers Tacho Reporting procedure and document storage
Fuel Receipts checking vehicle fuel purchases
Requirements and skills
Strong administration skills
Transport experience is ideal but not essential
Knowledge of Lightfoot system and vision advantageous
Current experience of working within a fast-paced office
Good communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external
Follow instructions and procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
The role Monday to Friday
40 hours per week
7:30 - 16:30
