Summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a Staff Nurse role in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 15‑bed regional Lead Centre providing care for critically ill children from birth up to 16 years of age. The unit provides a 24‑hour retrieval service, collaborates with specialists across cardiac, neurology, surgery, and treats major trauma patients. It is one of the largest PICU by admission numbers and maintains excellent survival rates.
Responsibilities
* Be a skilled member of the nursing team caring for critically ill patients in a highly complex environment.
* Provide a high standard of individualised care to the patients in accordance with agreed policies and within available resources.
* Help create an environment that is conducive to learning and development.
* Co‑operate fully in all PICU, Trust and University based developmental programmes and take responsibility for personal growth in an enthusiastic manner.
