Our client is a local Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineering Consultancy with an excellent reputation for quality work. Their technical expertise and successful project delivery have enabled rapid growth, making them one of the most reputable firms in the industry. They have strong project wins across healthcare, education, commercial, and MOD sectors. Services include detailed design, TTD, dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, technical advisory work, and more. They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) at various levels. Role
* Understanding project briefs and designing/specifying Mechanical Building Services systems.
* Preparing and reviewing documentation such as designs, specifications, assessment reports, and survey reports.
* Managing the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house tools.
* Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
* Implementing detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to assess existing installations and inform new or upgrade designs.
* Managing entire projects from a technical and client perspective.
* Supporting proposals development (depending on level).
* Assisting in the development of junior engineers.
* Writing reports and technical notes.
Qualifications / Experience
* Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* Chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET.
* 5-10 years of experience in a design consultancy or similar environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
* Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients.
* Experience managing projects through various RIBA stages.
* Involvement in bids, tenders, and financial management.
* Thorough knowledge of technical standards and ability to manage project deliverables independently.
* Proficiency with digital tools such as IES, Microsoft Office, and CAD.
