Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant food preparation and culinary arts, with a flair for creativity and an eye for detail. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a team of cooks to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Monitor kitchen operations to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
* Assist in the planning of special events or catering services as required.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar setting.
* Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques.
* Excellent leadership abilities with experience in supervising kitchen staff.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
