Job Overview
Internal candidates to The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust only. Outside applicants will not be considered.
Main Duties
* Collaborate with Biomedical Scientists and colleagues to provide diagnostic services.
* Prepare, operate, monitor and maintain complex laboratory equipment.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours rota (weekends, bank holidays, nights, early and late shifts) as part of an average 37.5‑hour week.
* Cover absences across sites, with the post based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification and previous clinical laboratory experience.
* NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support, IBMS certificate of achievement Part II, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant science‑based subject.
Working Hours
Average 37.5 hour working week including evening, night, weekend and bank/public holidays.
Location
Royal Shrewsbury Hospital; duties may require covering absences across sites.
