Shift Pattern:
* 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM
* 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
About the Client: Our client is a leading company within the waste management sector, committed to sustainability and operational excellence. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Gantry Crane Operator to join their team in Sittingbourne on a temp-to-perm basis.
Role Overview: As a Gantry Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of gantry cranes, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely within the facility. This is a shift-based role, offering competitive pay and the potential for permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate the gantry crane to move materials within the waste management facility.
* Ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
* Perform regular inspections of the crane and associated equipment.
* Report any faults or issues with equipment to the maintenance team.
* Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
* Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations.
* Complete all relevant paperwork and records as required.
Skills & Experience:
* Essential:
o Relevant gantry crane operating ticket (preferred).
o Experience with other plant machinery (considered an advantage).
o Strong commitment to safety and following health & safety protocols.
o Ability to work efficiently within a team and under pressure.
o Reliable and punctual.
* Desirable:
o Previous experience in a similar role within the waste management or industrial sector.
o Other plant tickets (training will be provided for the right candidate).
