About the Role (Home Based or Hybrid)A leading, fully integrated energy infrastructure business is on a mission to drive the UKs transition to net zero are on the hunt for a Energy Trading Risk & Compliance Manager.With a portfolio that includes smart meters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV charge points, they provide complete energy solutions underpinned by engineering excellence, funding capability and advanced technology and data expertise.With over 300MW already operational and a further 200MW under construction, this business is a key market player in UK energy trading, operating a sophisticated in-house trading function.The Energy Trading Risk & Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in supporting trading operations, managing risk, and ensuring compliance across a dynamic and growing energy portfolio. Reporting to the Trading Director, this position spans operational oversight, strategic input, and the development of governance frameworks to support ongoing growth.This is a client-facing, hands-on role suited to an individual with deep industry knowledge, a commercial mindset, and strong leadership capabilities. The Energy Trading Risk & Compliance Manager will also be instrumental in developing internal controls and supporting wider business innovation and expansion into new markets.Key Responsibilities:Risk ManagementImplement and enhance operational risk management frameworksOversee internal trading controls, reporting, and monitoring systemsEnsure robust operational processes are in placeComplianceDevelop and maintain governance frameworks and internal policiesEnsure compliance with all external regulations and internal standardsSupport project setup and oversee personnel competency processesOperational ManagementManage processes with Elexon, trading exchanges (EPEX Spot, N2EX), and OTC trading partiesLead regulatory reporting, change management, and performance analysisLiaise with NESO and coordinate industry reporting activitiesProvide support across new project development and market entry initiativesWhat Theyre Looking ForA high-calibre graduate with a proven academic track recordIndustry experience and in-depth knowledge of energy trading, regulation, and risk managementHands-on experience with governance frameworks and trading operationsStrong understanding of the following will be advantageous:Capacity Market, Elexon, National Grid/NESO, EPEX/N2EX, EFET/GTMA, REMIT, EMR, Settlements, CreditBackground in commercial shift operations and leading cross-functional projectsSkilled in interpreting data to drive decision-making and optimise trading performanceBenefits include:25 personal holiday days per year (with additional 8 public holidays) increasing to 30 personal days after 5 years of service (includes options to buy and sell)Hybrid working options.Enhanced Maternity leave.
