Further information
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in monitoring and assessing preventative services for children and young people across Swansea so that they best meet needs, covering maternity leave for a one-year period.
The postholder will monitor existing commissioned preventative services to ensure they effectively meet need, as part of the Commissioning Team within Social Services, using the 'Analyse, Plan, Do, Review' approach.
Alongside this, they will assess provision, particularly around the right to play, involving engagement, consultation and partnership working, and support the development of action plans to respond to gaps or needs.
Knowledge of and a commitment towards supporting children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or who are otherwise disabled, as well as of play and its essential role in every child's healthy development will be key to this role.
Safeguarding
Within Swansea Council there is a "Safeguarding is Everybody's Business" principle, and this applies to all Swansea Council employees, elected members, volunteers and contractors. Further details can be found at
